I have been sewing since I was 8 years old. I always had an interest in creating something beautiful. I learned to make my own clothes when I was in fourth grade and always had ideas that were beyond the resources I had. After I graduated from High School, I went away to college for one year and then went to work in a Civilian Job at the Air Force Base in our town.

I made my first wedding dress when I was 19 years old - my own. For the next few years I sewed clothing for my little kids and as they grew older I needed a way to earn that extra money to help us survive, so I started doing Alterations for a nice store and eventually moved into a Sewing Business of my own - Sewing for Weddings. I had the opportunity to make all the beautiful gowns I always dreamed of. But after more than twenty years I had to take a break from it all. After a few years off from sewing, I made a complete wardrobe for my 10 year old Granddaughter for her American Girl Doll.

That was the start - eight years ago of creating beautiful clothes for these amazing 18 inch dolls. I draw on my skills learned from doing alterations and sewing gowns to make that special one for a girl whose dreams lead her to looking for that dress that did not exist. That adventure taught me to look at the silhouette of pattern and see all sorts of possibilities. Those little extra things that can become routine after making them a habit - raise the level and value of what I make.
